My oh My oh My....over a year and not a single journal entry?  I thought I said I'd do more of these...
its OK though, I've been stupid busy.

Since last time I wrote, I FINALLY landed a graphic design position, so I let my freelance career taper off a little.  And I'm ok with that...for now. (This explains my absence from DA)
I somehow bullshitted my way through Adobe Illustrator well enough to land the job with having MAYBE 5 hours experience ever using it. (I'm a Photoshop junkie through and thought) so that was good, but I'll tell you that the more I use it, the more I like it.  I'm still a HUGE noob, but its getting better. I even volunteered to use it once on my own time at home for a personal project, lol.

but yeah, I got a job working for an awesome company who manufactures plastic bags,pot covers,flower sleeves, food cones, and tons-o'-other-shit for the floral and food industries. My job mainly consists of designing custom bags and sleeves for major retailers along with designing other stuff like pot covers and whatever else they tell me to do.(even had to design a giant 53 foot ad for the side of a semi trailer one time lol...hell yeah!)  I'm also working on launching the companies revamped website. (which is secretly my 1st love, I'm a web designer at heart and rather spend all day doing that, but its good to take a break from the interwebs.)
The site isn't my design, it was conceived before i started there, and is a delightfully messy design-by-committee (read: people who have no business "designing" a website) piece of work.  Ive been more or less put in-charge of the site after launch, which is really cool, but not so cool. Design-by-committee (especially by those who are not designers) NEVER turns out well. NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER.

All I can hope for is they like/trust me enough to spearhead a re-design in a year or so, and let me have a little more control over what happens. BUT I love my job and get to work with some really talented and cool people.  And unlike my previous jobs, i don't dread going.  I don't spend the majority of my day thinking of ways i can commit suicide at work...its really nice, lol.

Outside work -
I officially went vegetarian. Its probably the single best thing i did this year.  I feel fucking GREAT! prior to this I ate meat maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I don't know, I was never into carcass.  After having it in my head for awhile, I decided to commit. April 22nd at approx. 4:00pm-ish i ate my last flesh...some kinda creamy chicken pasta thing...and it wasn't even that good.  Ever since that, I haven't looked back. Honestly it isn't that hard, and I would go full vegan or raw, but I love cheese to damn much, and on raw you can't drink redbull..which is a sin. So that's instantly out of the question.
I also started running again.  I started last summer, ran clear up until the 1st snow, then quit for the winter.  I've been lazy this spring/summer, but started again. Its crazy how fast you get out of running shape.  But getting back to my 5k a day is really really nice. I didn't realize how much i missed it.

Also on a side note, i got me a Google+ Account, Private message me your email if you want an invite, and i got plenty (its cool kids / invite only right now...its still in beta) lol

I'm trying to post as much new art as i can, i have a few more from a while back, maybe I'll get to someday..or maybe i wont, who knows, lol


But overall -
I don't have many freelance projects going on now - which is good
I have an awesome job - which is good
I've had my insomnia under control lately - which is good
I am 100% vegetarian - which is good
I started running again - which is good
Over 4000+ Pageviews - which is good

Everything...is good...and I like it
I mean i have soul crushing amounts of student loan debt, but I've come to terms with that...mainly because there nothing else i can do, lol

BTW...
I think imma just do an entry at every 1000 pageviews...that seems to be whats happening anyways... just embrace it, and steer into the skid.
